Fire Hydrant Maintenance in the Community
Fire hydrants are inspected annually in the community by the North Weld County Water District (NWCWD). Wildwing is scheduled for its next inspection cycle in the spring of 2026. The maintenance process involves a detailed 21-step procedure, which includes evaluation of the oil or grease reservoir, gasket condition, pressure checks, and verification of the auxiliary valve’s function. Any leaks identified during the inspection are documented, and replacement parts are ordered as needed. Repairs are typically completed within 2–3 weeks following the inspection.
In addition, painting and exterior touch-up work on the hydrants is planned for this spring.
The Wildwing inspection cycle is expected to be completed by May 30, 2026.
